Pizza Mia

Hearth 100% Whole Wheat Bread


  • 2 slices Aunt Millie's Hearth 100% Whole Wheat Bread
  • 2 ounces diced ham
  • 3 Tbsp. sliced, fresh mushrooms
  • 3 Tbsp. thinly sliced onions
  • 3 Tbsp. sliced green pepper
  • 2 Tbsp. sliced banana peppers
  • 3 Tbsp. part skim shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 3 Tbsp. low sodium tomato sauce
  • 2 tsp. fresh basil, diced

Yield: 1 sandwich


  1. Heat nonstick skillet on medium heat; spray with olive oil flavored nonstick cooking spray.
  2. Sautee onions, mushrooms, and green peppers over medium heat, stirring constantly for 3 - 4 minutes.
  3. Take vegetables out of skillet and and set aside.
  4. Wipe out skillet to clean and set one again on medium heat.
  5. Combine tomato sauce and fresh basil in a small bowl and set aside,
  6. Spray one slice of bread with olive oil flavored nonstick cooking spray and play that side down in skillet.
  7. Layer on bread shredded cheese, sauteed vegetables, diced ham, banana peppers, and tomato sauce mixture.
  8. Top with second slice of bread. Spray top of this slice of bread with olive oil flavored nonstick cooking spray.
  9. Cool sandwich 3-4 minutes on first side or until lightly browned.
  10. Turn sandwich over and brown the second side approximately 2-3 minutes.
